Member/Donor  Members of The Friends organization provide the operating support necessary to sustain our activities. Our members are the cornerstone of our efforts to continue operating, fundraising and promoting the value and legacy of the Ohio Governor’s Residence and Heritage Garden. Membership in the Friends is tax deductible and provides funding for such things as training and organizing volunteers, maintenance and repairs to furnishings and property beyond what is covered by the state budget and administrative needs.

Please join us in becoming a member of The Friends and play a role in preserving Ohio history for future generations.

Your annual membership includes e-mail updates, annual recognition and invitations to Friends’ sponsored programs.

Donor  Our donors provide generous support to a wide variety of projects and needs related to the preservation and restoration of the property’s architecture, furnishings, artwork and gardens. Donations also help us restore the Residence to its historical grandeur and further the Ohio Governor’s Residence and Heritage Garden as a living monument to Ohio history, artistry, culture, industry and landscape.

The Friends welcomes monetary sponsorships and in-kind donations, as well as donations of personal property that fit within the scope of our gift acceptance policy. Donations to The Friends are tax deductible.

If you are interested in making a financial donation to The Friends, click here. If you are interested in an in-kind or personal property donation to the Friends, please contact the Executive Director.

Volunteer  Our volunteers serve in many capacities and are an integral part of our efforts to preserve the history of the Residence and share the house and grounds with thousands of visitors each year. Volunteers lead tours of the Residence and Heritage Garden, serve as hosts and hostesses at events, give presentations on the Residence and Heritage Garden around the state and assist staff with special projects.

Individuals who are interested in volunteering must satisfactorily complete the Governor’s Residence Volunteer Involvement Application. Once the paperwork has been completed and submitted you will be contacted regarding possible follow-up interviews, training sessions and fingerprinting and background checks. We encourage you to begin the process by completing the Volunteer Involvement Application.
